Storage for the winter

For many many years we have had a sail boat. The thing about boats is that you have to remove and store all your belongings each winter. The most convenient place to store things for us was our basement. I think many people user their garages, but we didn't have one in the city. If you live in an urban area, storing your things is difficult. So one year we decided that putting the stuff in our basement just wasn't going to work. Please also visit.
We started to do research on storage units in the area. There turned out to be a storage unit for rent not too far down the road. Based on what I've seen, storage units are really easy to come by now. They seem to have been built all over the place. I guess that the companies in this business have decided that this is a growth market. Anyway, back to my story.
So we rented a storage unit near by. We drove all the stuff from the boat to the storage unit. This took many many trips. Because we were close, I ended up moving more things into the storage unit that I had previous put in my basement. And actually, that's very good for the stuff you are storing. The big issue here is mold. Inside the storage unit, climate control made sure that there was no moisture. This had the advantage of keeping things from molding, and they smelled better too.
